Food waste generation in Indonesia is estimated at 300 kilograms per person per year, while in Saudi Arabia it is 427 kilograms per person per year (Luna, & Suryana, 2022). Hotel, restaurant, catering, and household waste contribute to this waste. This research was conducted to determine the importance of awareness and understanding by restaurants as one of the contributors to food waste in Indonesia related to the issue of food waste. The approach model applied is descriptive qualitative. Data is presented in descriptive form, with this approach focusing on in-depth explanation and description of the phenomenon under study. The results showed that the main factors causing food waste at Peninsula Manado hotel were inaccuracy in organising buffet set-up, and negligence from consumers who could not manage their portions properly. The implication of this research is the need to have a special management system from the hotel in reducing food loss and food waste.
2024-11-25T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Sefania Christy Rimbing, Mirjam P. Leadership factors have a significant role in determining the success of an organization's goals in building good employee performance. Motivated by several employee performance issues, this research aims to examine how the leadership style applied at Hotel KUBE, influences employee performance. The data collected in this study consist of questionnaire responses from a sample of 57 participants using purposive sampling. Purposive sampling is a non-probability sampling technique in which the researcher selects samples based on specific considerations or objectives deemed relevant to the study. The sample selection is carried out intentionally to ensure that the samples possess certain characteristics required to answer the research questions. According to the theories of Sugiyono (2017) and Etikan and Bala (2020), purposive sampling is used when researchers have specific criteria or considerations in selecting research subjects, so the selected subjects are expected to provide in-depth information. Data collection utilized Likert scale questionnaires. The data analysis technique employed simple linear regression analysis, t-test, and coefficient of determination test. Based on the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the Leadership Style does not have a significant influence on employee performance at Hotel KUBE, with an R2 value of 0.082 or 8.2%. The calculated t-value of -2.213 is smaller than the t-table value of 1.673, and the significance value is <α = 0.031 < 0.005.
2024-11-25T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Anak Agung Dhimas Dharmika Pemayun, Ni Desak Made Santi Diwyarthi, Clearesta Adindahttps://journal.literasisains.id/index.php/toba/article/view/4434Pengaruh Lingkungan Kerja terhadap Kinerja Karyawan di Hotel PRL 2024-11-25T13:48:07+00:00Ni Made Ari Kusuma Dewiarikusumadewi01@gmail.comNi Luh Gde Sri Sadjunisriesad@ppb.ac.idNi Desak Made Santi Diwyarthisantidiwyarthi@yahoo.com
A positive work environment, characterized by fair leadership and supportive colleagues, can enhance employee comfort and performance. Data were collected through a questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale to measure 24 statement items. Data analysis techniques employed included simple linear analysis, t-test, and the coefficient of determination, processed using SPSS version 29. The results showed that the work environment had a positive and significant effect of 79.8% on employee performance. The sample consisted of 47 respondents selected using stratified random sampling. This technique is appropriate due to the heterogeneous population with distinct subgroups, ensuring proportional representation. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires with a Likert scale. Leadership style was used as the independent variable and turnover intention as the dependent variable. Validity and reliability tests were carried out to ensure a robust research instrument (Cronbach's Alpha > 0.8). Simple linear regression analysis showed that leadership style has a significant negative effect on turnover intention (R = 62.5%). This means that the application of better leadership styles can reduce employees' desire to leave the organization. This research result is in line with the Leader-Member Exchange (LMX) theory which emphasizes the positive impact of a strong relationship between leaders and employees on job satisfaction and retention. This study also supports previous research on the role of transformational leadership in reducing turnover. It is recommended that leaders implement clear and directed leadership styles to minimize misunderstandings and improve employee retention..
2024-11-25T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Ni Desak Made Santi Diwyarthi, Anjani Jasmine Patria
