The bakaua tradition significantly influences the community’s social, spiritual, and cultural aspects. It strengthens social bonds among residents, reinforces local cultural identity, and serves as a medium for fostering the values of mutual cooperation and togetherness. In conclusion, the Bakaua tradition in Nagari Sijunjung is not only a cultural symbol but also a platform for women to showcase their strategic role in preserving tradition and culture. This study is expected to contribute to local tradition studies and support the preservation of cultural values in modern society.
