Abstract

Pengaruh Disiplin Kerja dan Motivasi Kerja terhadap Kinerja Karyawan di Kontena Hotel Batu

Employee performance is a critical factor for organizational sustainability and competitiveness, particularly in the hospitality sector, which depends heavily on the quality of human resource services. This study analyzes the effect of work discipline and work motivation on employee performance at Kontena Hotel Batu, both partially and simultaneously. Using a quantitative approach with an associative design, primary data were collected through a 1–4 Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to 52 employees, then analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 26. Prior to hypothesis testing, the data were examined through validity, reliability, normality, and heteroscedasticity tests to ensure the regression model's feasibility. Results show that work discipline has a positive but statistically insignificant effect on employee performance (sig. 0.052 > 0.05), while work motivation has a positive and significant effect (sig. 0.000 < 0.05) and is the most dominant variable. Simultaneously, both variables significantly affect employee performance (sig. 0.000). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.692 indicates that 69.2% of the variation in employee performance is explained by these two variables, while the remaining 30.8% is influenced by factors outside the model. These findings suggest that work motivation is the primary driver of employee performance in the hospitality sector, while work discipline serves as a supporting rather than a primary driving factor, offering practical implications for hotel management.
