5. Abstract and Keywords
| Element | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Length | Between 150 and 250 words, in one paragraph. |
| Languages | Provide an abstract in English (Abstract) followed by an abstract in Indonesian (Abstrak). |
| Content | Summarize the purpose of the study, the method, the main results, and the conclusion. |

| Keywords | Provide 5 to 6 keywords, separated by commas. The label "Keywords:" is in bold and italic for the English abstract, and the label "Kata Kunci:" is in bold for the Indonesian abstract. |
6. Main Text
All main sections use Times New Roman 12 pt with single spacing. The headings of the main sections are in capital letters, bold, upright, and aligned left. Every paragraph starts with a 1 cm indent, and the text is justified.
6.1 Introduction
The introduction presents the urgency and the background of the research problem. Develop it with the inverted pyramid method, moving from the global level to the national level and then to the local level, and cite relevant references (literature or research results). The introduction must answer the following four questions.
| No. | Question the introduction answers |
|---|---|
| 1 | What is the background of the research problem? |
| 2 | What does a brief review of related studies show? |
| 3 | Why is the study carried out? |
| 4 | What is the research question or objective? |
The state of the art, the gap analysis, and the novelty of the study must be visible in this section. Avoid a general literature review and general definitions. For an article that reports community service, the introduction also presents the situation analysis, the problems of the partners, and the solution that is offered.
6.2 Method
The method section is presented in one to two paragraphs and does not use sub headings. It describes the following points, according to the type of study.
| Type of study | What to describe |
|---|---|
| All studies | The type of research, for example quantitative or qualitative. |
| Qualitative studies | For case studies, phenomenology, ethnography, and similar designs, describe how the trustworthiness (validity) of the findings was checked. |
| Quantitative studies | The location and time of the research, the population and the sample, the sampling technique, the data collection technique, the data analysis, and the presentation of the data. |
| Studies that use tools and materials | The specifications of the tools and the materials that were used. |
| Studies with human participants | How permission and informed consent were obtained, and the ethical clearance where it is required. |
6.3 Results
The results section describes the characteristics of the research subjects and the results of the univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analyses (if any). The results must be supported by adequate data, and they must answer the problem and the objectives that were stated in the introduction. Sub headings may be used for each variable. Sub headings are bold, with the first letter of each word in capitals, and they must not use bullets or numbers. Data are presented in tables or figures, as described in section 7.
6.4 Discussion
The discussion explains the reasons behind the results and compares them with other studies, both the studies that support the findings and the studies that do not agree with them. The discussion must not repeat sentences from the Results section, and it must not read the tables and the graphs again. The results may be grouped, interpreted, and discussed on the basis of theory and earlier research. Sub headings may be used for each variable, with the same rules as in the Results section.
6.5 Conclusion and Suggestions
The conclusion summarizes the results and the discussion with reference to the objectives of the study, and it answers the research question. Write it as flowing prose, and not in statistical sentences. Use terms that are substantive in the field of study, and avoid statistical or methodological terms. The suggestions are based on the findings that have been discussed, and they may refer to practical action, the development of new theory, and further research. Present the section in one paragraph, without bullets or numbers.
6.6 Acknowledgements (if any)
Acknowledgements may be given to (1) the parties that provided funding and support, (2) departments and institutions that supported the work, and (3) professionals who contributed to the preparation of the manuscript.
7. Tables, Figures, and Equations
| Element | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Tables | Use open tables, which have horizontal lines only. Place the table in the center, with the content centered. Number the tables in sequence (Table 1, Table 2, and so on), and write the title above the table, centered. Place each table within the text where it is discussed. |
| Figures | Use the JPG format for diagrams, graphics, photographs, and other figures. Place the figure in the center, number the figures in sequence (Figure 1, Figure 2, and so on), and write the caption below the figure, centered. State the source of the figure on the line below the caption. Place each figure within the text where it is discussed. |
| Equations | Write mathematical equations with the Equation Editor or a similar tool. Center each equation and place its number in parentheses at the right margin. Explain every variable the first time it appears. |
7.1 Example of an open table
Table 1. Title of the table
| Characteristic | n | % |
|---|---|---|
| Category 1 | xx | xx |
| Category 2 | xx | xx |
| Category 3 | xx | xx |
Figure 1. Title of the figure

8.2 Formats in the reference list
