Abstract

Troll line fisheries represent one of the economically important pelagic fishing activities at Palabuhanratu Nusantara Fishing Port (PPN Palabuhanratu), Indonesia. This study aimed to analyze the business characteristics, costs, revenues, profits, and financial feasibility of troll line fisheries based on fishing-day intensity. A survey was conducted on 18 fishing vessels, which were classified into three groups: Lower, Middle, and Upper. The financial analysis included total cost, total revenue, profit, Revenue Cost Ratio (R/C), Break Even Point (BEP), Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C). The results showed that the Middle group achieved the best financial performance, with an annual revenue of IDR 307,784,000, an annual profit of IDR 157,662,500, an R/C ratio of 1.25, an NPV of IDR 502,139,318, an IRR of 22.26%, and a Net B/C ratio of 1.17. All business groups were financially feasible, as indicated by an R/C ratio greater than 1, positive NPV, IRR exceeding the discount rate, and Net B/C greater than 1. Increasing the number of fishing days did not necessarily improve profitability, indicating that operational efficiency is the primary factor in enhancing the profitability of troll line fisheries.
