Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of work fatigue and work-life balance on organizational commitment and employee performance. Increasing job demands, the advancement of digitalization, and administrative pressures can heighten the risk of burnout and make it difficult for employees to maintain a balance between their professional and personal lives. Such conditions have the potential to diminish both employee commitment and performance. The study employs the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method based on SmartPLS to analyze the relationships between variables. Sample size determination was based on the Isaac and Michael table, drawing from a population of 179 employees at the Tangerang Customs Office. All members of the population had an equal chance of being selected as respondents, with simple random sampling used as the sampling technique. The results indicate that work fatigue has a negative impact on employee commitment and performance. Conversely, work-life balance has a positive impact on employee commitment and performance. Furthermore, employee commitment was found to positively influence employee performance. These findings demonstrate that employee commitment plays a crucial role in supporting performance improvement within the workplace. Therefore, managing workloads and enhancing work-life balance are essential to strengthening commitment and sustainably improving employee performance.
